The RE200 is the standard 2K rear camera module for the VIOFO A229 series. Powered by the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 5MP sensor — the same sensor used in the A229 Plus front camera — it records at 2K (2560×1440) with HDR and features an F1.9 wide-aperture lens for excellent low-light rear coverage. Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 — Flagship Sensor in the Rear
Most dual-channel dash cams cut costs by pairing a good front sensor with a weaker rear sensor. The RE200 does not compromise: its IMX675 delivers the same dynamic range, low-light performance, and HDR processing as the front camera on the A229 Plus. Headlights behind you, dark parking garages, tunnel exits — the rear channel handles them all without blowout or noise. License plates from vehicles following you remain readable even at night.
Upgrade 1CH to 2CH — No Firmware Changes
If you purchased the A229 Plus 1CH or A229 Pro 1CH, the RE200 converts your system to a full dual-channel setup. Connect the 6M Type-C cable from the RE200 to the rear port on your front unit, mount on the rear windshield with the included adhesive sticker, and the system automatically detects the new camera. No firmware update or configuration needed — recording starts immediately on both channels.

The RE200 is the same rear camera included in the A229 Plus 2CH and A229 Pro 2CH packages. If your existing rear camera is damaged, lost, or you need a spare, the RE200 is the exact replacement — same sensor, same cable, same mount.
