Thirty-year-old Piotr Alekseevich Marakulin lives a contented, if humdrum life as a financial clerk in a Petersburg trading company. He is jolted out of his daily routine when, quite unexpectedly, he is accused of embezzlement and loses his job. This change of status brings him into contact with a number of women--the titular "sisters of the cross"--whose sufferings will lead him to question the ultimate meaning of the universe. The first English translation of this remarkable 1910 novel by Alexei Remizov, an influential member of the Russian Symbolist movement, Sisters of the Cross is a masterpiece of early modernist fiction. In the tradition of Gogol's Petersburg Tales and Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, it deploys densely packed psychological prose and fluctuating narrative perspective to tell the story of a "poor clerk" who rebels against the suffering and humiliation afflicting both his own life and the lives of the remarkable women whom he encounters in the tenement building where he lives in Petersburg. The novel reaches its haunting climax at the beginning of the Whitsuntide festival, when Marakulin thinks he glimpses the coming of salvation both for himself and for the "fallen" actress Verochka, the unacknowledged love of his life, in one of the most powerfully drawn scenes in Symbolist literature. Remizov is best known as a writer of short stories and fairy tales, but this early novel, masterfully translated by Roger Keys and Brian Murphy, is perhaps his most significant work of sustained artistic prose.Binding Type: Paperback

Great shirt for a great price
Size: Large, Color: White Golf Clubs
Love this shirt and ordered and received one more already. Also, lots of patterns and colors. Lightweight, perfect fit and collar holds up nicely. Has an SPF 50 to protect you when you’re out in the sun, even though it’s a lightweight shirt. It is breathable and has the quick dry wicking feature. Price is great. Highly recommend.

Nice overall
Size: Large, Color: Red Flower
Great looking shirt even though collar is not especially stable. Seem like it will be durable. The one thing I have noticed about these moisture wicking shirts is they don’t seem to be especially breathable which leads too more moisture. Good fit, great color and cut just right for a guy who is no longer like Big John, “broad at the shoulders and narrow at the hips” with a tail just right for the untucked look.

Fantastic shirt for the big and tall man
Size: 4X-Large, Color: White Peak
We bought multiple shirts from Obla recently in different colors/prints. They are an incredible value for the price. The material is so nice, and they wash up well. The collar is more structured, and makes the shirt more polished looking. My 6'5" 300lb husband was very comfortable and looked great in the 4XL. Would highly recommend this brand, and will be customers for life!

Cool, Comfortable, and Perfect for the Course
Size: Large, Color: White Colored Dots
This golf polo is a great mix of comfort and performance. The dry-fit fabric keeps you cool and dry, even on warm days, and the material feels lightweight and breathable.
It has a clean, modern look that works well on the golf course or for casual wear. The fit is comfortable and moves easily with you. Overall, a solid, stylish polo at a great value.

Great shirt!
Size: X-Large, Color: Purple Buffalo
Love it! Light, stretchy, and breathable! The shirt itself is so nice to wear, I’ll probably buy other patterns!
I bought a dozen of these in different sizes for a golf tournament. Sizes ran true. Nice athletic fit!
This pattern made us just the right amount of obnoxious out on the course! Great vibrant violet color from afar, cool pattern up close!
