8vo. Original cloth, ornamented in blind, spine lettered in gilt; pp. 176; full-page wood-engravigs; neat restoration to extremities., some spotting or foxing throughout due to poor quality paper, 1857 ownership inscription J. K. Kenderdine to initial blank, a good copy.

First edition, rare. Sonntag was the astronomer with Kane's Franklin search expedition. The present narrative was published against the wishes of certain expedition members and the introductory pages offer the publisher's justification for its appearance. The book was printed on cheap paper and was doubtlessly rushed to press so as to capitalise on the popular appeal of the subject.

Arctic Bibliography 14449; Sabin 86971.

Beautiful gift book.
Format: Paperback
The quotes stimulate me to journal my own thoughts. I bought one for myself and one for a friend. It would make a nice pairing with her biography, “Until the Day Breaks”.

Beautiful!
Format: Paperback
I have just discovered Lilias Trotter and her writings and paintings. Beautiful watercolors evoking all aspects of her life especially spent in Africa are on each page with a snippet of a quote from her writings. Even without journaling, it's pleasure to page through admiring her wonderful talent and Godly perspective.

Beautiful Journal Type of book
Format: Paperback
As my friend said when she opened it...it's so beautiful, I don't want to write in it! Just a paperback type of journal, but for Lilias Trotter admirers, it's a treasure.

This artist of faith has a very inspiring and uplifting story.
Format: Paperback
This book was a gift to a family member. The family member was not only touched by the thoughtfulness but by the story and art in this little book. Lilias Trotter was a remarkable woman of true, deep faith and made a difference in so many lives. We could all learn from her example and be inspired by her commitment to the people whose lives she touched. Recommend this book for artists and born again believers alike. God is in the details!

This journal which includes paintings and quotes from Lilias Trotter is lovely. In fact you may enjoy looking at the pages even more than journaling. Excellent gift for friends.
