The Iris Guitar Company ND-200, named after head Iris luthier Nick Durkee, offers a combination a vintage-inspired build specs and modern playability, a reason that Iris Guitars has been on the map since their beginnings.
The body of this ND-200 features European Spruce for its top, while the back and sides are cut from select rosewood. Ivoroid binding surround the perimeter of the guitar's body, and a Firestripe pickguard acts as the visual focus of the front of this beautiful instrument. Inside, scalloped, Adirondack spruce bracing is responsible for working with the surrounding woods to help this guitar resonate and project clearly. Black/white/black purfling and a matching rosette help this guitar stand out further.
Attached with a Mortise and Tenon joint that's been used in building for hundreds of years, the neck of this guitar is cut to a "C" profile, and features a fingerboard made from Indian rosewood topped with plastic, small white dot inlays. A bone nut measures 1-11/16-inch, and 2-7/32-inch bridge sits at the other end of the strings, with a total scale length of 25/5". At the top of the neck, the headstock is topped off with Golden Age relic brass tuners with off-white buttons.
With a body length of 21 inches and a total length of 42 inches, the lower bout measures 17 inches, the upper bout 12-1/2 inches, and the waist 10-3/8 inches, with the depth of 4-5/8 inches. This ND-200 comes with an included hardshell TKL case.
