It's gentle and effective. It does have a white cast but all you have to do is rub it in for about 10 to 15 seconds and then you're good to go! We love that it's water resistant because we can't keep our toddler out of the water. I'm going to buy more for Grandma and Grandpa's house and to have in our diaper bag as well.
