The BLVE Series is a boron carbide long venturi nozzle with an aluminium jacket and aluminium thread connection. Designed for use with a 25mm (1") internal diameter blast hose, these nozzles are suited for high-duty surface preparation on large structures, industrial equipment, and applications where aluminium oxide or hard mineral aggregates are the primary blasting media and sustained liner life between nozzle changes is the priority.
The boron carbide liner maintains peak production performance for significantly longer periods than tungsten carbide, with optimum air and abrasive consumption throughout the service life. The boron carbide liner typically outlasts tungsten carbide by five to ten times when used with aggressive abrasives such as aluminium oxide and selected mineral aggregates. The long venturi bore delivers up to 40% greater production rates than straight bore nozzles. Although the purchase price is higher than tungsten carbide or BP200 SiAlON nozzles, boron carbide typically delivers a lower cost per blasting hour in aggressive abrasive applications — the extended service life offsets the unit price difference over sustained use.
Boron carbide is more brittle than tungsten carbide: careful handling is required, and rough handling on active job sites should be avoided to prevent liner cracking. For operations where rough handling cannot be avoided, the TLVE Series tungsten carbide nozzles offer a more impact-resistant alternative.
Key Features
- Aluminium jacket and aluminium threads — lightweight, corrosion-resistant construction
- Long venturi bore
- Boron carbide liner
- Recommended for use with aggressive abrasives such as aluminium oxide and selected mineral abrasives
- Thread: 1-1/4" NPSM (aluminium) Note: Most blasting systems worldwide use 50 mm thread nozzles. Verify compatibility or select a matching nozzle holder/adapter for this thread type.
Available Sizes & Lengths
Available in nozzle sizes #4, #5, #6, #7 and #8, with lengths ranging from 133.4 mm to 219 mm.
