Cortec®'s Cooling Tower Frog® is a Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor powder packaged in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water-soluble bags. Developed for dry layup of cooling tower systems for seasonal, short-term or long-term periods. It protects enclosed spaces for up to 12 months. When the bag is cut open, the VCI molecules vaporize and adsorb on all metal surfaces, reaching recessed areas and interior cavities. The corrosion inhibitors forma a strong, self-replenishing, protective molecular layer on the metal. The product does not need to be removed prior to startup, reducing environmental hazard and disposal problems.
Packaging:
Cooling Tower Frog® is available in two 4-lb (1.8 kg) bags per carton. Each bag measures 10"x14".
How to Use:
Remove and discard outer bags. Place bags flat into the designated equipment and slit open the water-soluble bags to begin corrosion protection. Two bags treat up to 1,000 gallons (3,800 liters or 133.7 ft3) of enclosed space. After application, the internal spaces should be sealed from the outside atmosphere.
Typical Applications:
Use Cooling Tower Frog® to prevent rust on cooling towers during layup for up to 12 months. Provides corrosion protection for steel, copper, aluminum and galvanized steel.
