The Buck Port-A-Wrap has been widely popular among the modern-day arborist. Old school arborists used to lower heavy wood by wrapping their rigging lines around nearby trees, causing damage to trees and often causing accidents. With the Buck Port-A-Wrap XL, lowering heavy wood can be controlled and done at a much faster pace while also lowering the potential for an accident. The user-friendly design also makes attaching rigging lines a breeze!
The Port-A-Wrap XL features:
- Based on the original Buckingham Port-A-Wrap III, the Port-A-Wrap XL is bigger and stronger and still features the same great benefits.
- The 601XN maintains a proper bend ratio on the lowering line allowing maximum strength and friction control.
- With a 7/8″ lowering rope capacity, the longer nickel plating over steel tube has ample room for wraps.
Many of those who work on towers are now beginning to use the port-a-wrap as a cost-effective friction control device. Some uses include:
- By simply attaching the port-a-wrap to the base of a tower, you can use it to safely lower loads (like a set of bells) from an elevated location.
- The additional eye allows the user to attach a set of rigging blocks like the Buck Riggers or the Buck Side Swivels to raise loads prior to lowering them.
- Tie off/redirect cleats allow users to snub off a load.
- It also redirects the rope allowing the user to operate the port-a-wrap without being underneath the load.
The Buckingham Port-A-Wrap XL features a 12,000 lb. working load limit, as opposed to both the small (601N for 5/8” rope) and large (601LN for ¾” rope), has a 3,600 lb. working load limit.

Eye pleasing shelves with the ability to hold weight

Great set of 4 wood floating shelves. I used these to hold precon decks and other commander decks for magic the gathering cards. Though they are on the smaller size, they still fit up to 4 commander boxes side by side and and withhold double that if I stack the boxes. I am very impressed by the quality and how much weight each shelf can hold. The brackets to hang them make the shelves even more sturdy. The shelves are very pleasing on the eyes and the wood color is very natural. The shelves were simple to hang by one person. They look very stunning and of great value. They hold all kinds of items and function perfect as a shelf and look wonderful as a form/type of wall decoration even without items on the shelves. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase and I will be buying more of these shelves soon.

These are cute and easy to install. They were the perfect size for the location. I did use other drywall mounts to make sure they were more likely to stay in but after I installed they feel sturdy and reliable.

Different mounting mechanism than photos

I'm going to start off this review by stating that the mounting mechanism used on the Shelf is different than the one shown in the photo. In the photo, it shows a single bar which would have made the Shelf easier to level however, the product I received has two separate bars which means I have to be extra careful holding a level against the paper. Stencil. The reason I chose this product over different listings was because for a dollar or two more its photo showed a single bar.
Now for the pros and cons:
Pros:
Accurate measurement.
Shelf appears to be actual wood! The photos made it looks like a veneer, which it is not.
Easy to install.
Includes good instructions.
Seems like it can hold items fairly well.
Cons:
The mounting hardware for drywall pretty flimsy, and I stripped out some of the drywall anchors during install. They still worked, but it was annoying to finish inserting them.
The shelf doesn't sit fully flush to the wall from factory as the screws included make it protrude slightly. I can fix this with my dremel, However, This could have been solved from the factory by making the cavity slightly deeper.
As mentioned above in my main detractor, it is a two bar mounting system rather than a one bar, which was shown in the photo.

Pleased overall

They have an unfinished feel, and the underside screws used to hold the shelf on the poles strip out really easy. Tighten those by hand and with care. Other than that, they look great and were easy to install. Came with a full set of hardware including anchors for various wall types. Stable enough to hold small to medium sized Lego sets (don't try to put Lego Hogwarts size kits on them--not big enough). Bought 3 sets of 4 and used others as Book shelves. They work very well for novel size or paperback sized books. Just make sure you anchor them well into the wall. These will only be as good as the installation.
