The F-4E/2020 Terminator fighter is the ultimate version of the modernization upgrade of the old F-4E Ghost II fighter by the Turkish Air Force.
The Turkish military signed an agreement with the Israeli IAI to upgrade the F-4E, which was completed and put into service in the early 21st century. As a classic fighter during the Cold War, the F-4 has greatly improved its avionics, weapons and survivability through this upgrade.
The brand-new EL/M-2032 radar and other systems have greatly improved their target detection and aiming capabilities, and are compatible with AN/ASW-55 data link pod, AN/ASQ-153 calibration pod and EL/L-8222 electronic warfare pod to further meet the needs of modern operations.
In order to strengthen the air strike capability that the Turkish Air Force attaches great importance to, AGM-142 air-to-surface missile can be mounted under the upgraded wing; At the same time, in order to further enhance its long-range strike capability, Turkey has also developed a SOM cruise missile with a range of more than 250 kilometers.
