Do I need to buy a license for every radio? Yes. The SW00017 license is tied directly to the serial number of the individual radio. If you have 10 radios that need AES 256-bit encryption, you will need to purchase a quantity of 10 licenses.

Do both the transmitting and receiving radios need the license? Yes. For AES256 encrypted communication to work, all radios operating on that secure channel must have the SW00017 license installed and the identical encryption key programmed via the CPS. If a radio without the license tries to listen, they will only hear garbled digital noise.

Is this a one-time fee or a recurring subscription? This is a one-time purchase. Once the license is applied to your radio's serial number, it is permanently activated for the lifespan of that device.

How long does it take to receive the license key? Because the licenses are generated by Hytera based on your specific serial numbers, fulfillment typically takes between 24 to 48 business hours after your order is placed and serial numbers are provided.
