Disclaimer

Kingston offers several special finishes that fall into two main groups: antiqued/distressed and living. Our antiqued/intentionally distressed finishes include Antique Brass, Antique Copper, Naples Bronze, and Black Stainless. Our living finish is Oil Rubbed Bronze. Antiqued/distressed finishes have had a darkener applied to create the appearance of patina and age. Due to the nature of plating and distressing processes, each production lot of these finishes varies slightly in brightness and tone. Some degree of inconsistency between items in antiqued or distressed finishes should be expected. We cannot guarantee an exact match between items in these finishes. The differences in tone and brightness are a variation rather than a flaw or defect. Living Finishes change over time. Our Oil Rubbed Bronze will patina over time such as taking on highlights in high-touch areas. We consider this dynamic nature a feature that gives each faucet a unique character over its lifetime of use and does not constitute a defect or flaw. I was expecting an unflavored fiber powder. However, expect a sour/tart taste. This means you can't add it to tea or coffee. I don't think it is appropriate to say that it is "unflavored" as I've had psyllium husk from other vendors that are truly "unflavored" (i.e. no citric acid). Dextrin (another fiber source) is also unflavored. But this Metamucil is tart (like sucking a lime) and can only be added to tart juices like orange juice or lemonade.

I was worried about the taste based on some of the reviews. I tried it in my coffee, and I'm glad I did it that way. I keep coffee in the fridge, so that is what I mixed with one tablespoon of this. I use half and half and no sugar. I tasted it. It tastes like burnt coffee. Not a bad thing...thats just what the taste it added. I decided to see what would happen if I added a splash of a flavored creamer. The taste went away instantly. Hope this helps someone!

Taste: While the product doesn’t taste bad, preparing it as directed results in a very mild orange flavor. -as a drink I would prefer more flavor. Texture: The psyllium husk absorbs water extremely quickly—even in cold or room-temp water—which is just the nature of the ingredient itself. Because it starts to gel so fast, you have to chug it, and even then it can be difficult to get down. (I personally gag at it, but I have sensory issues) If the gel like texture is an issue for you, I found it more palatable mixed into food with water on the side. Texture aside, the product itself is highly effective. Mixability: It doesn’t always mix smoothly and tends to clump. Again nature of the ingredient not the brand. The powder is very fine and non-gritty perfect for other mixings. Side effects: I had uncomfortable bloating the first time (2 scoops/ full glass), I recommend starting with (1 scoop or less/full glass) Dont rush it. Increase it from there as you grow tolerance. You may feel very full. - it helped me eat less!
