Formaat mineraal (gemeten zonder sokkel): 3,5 x 2,5 x 4 cm

 

Deze unieke combinatie van rode kwarts (hematoïde kwarts) en epidoot is afkomstig uit de San Felipe-mijn in de regio La Libertad, Peru. Het is een zeldzaam en visueel indrukwekkend verzamelstuk dat bekendstaat om het scherpe contrast tussen de vurige rode tinten en de diepgroene kristallen.

 

In 2024 was de holte met de rode kwarts leeg.

Je ziet dan ook weinig exemplaren op de markt.

 

  • Herkomst: San Felipe Mountain Mine, Sartimbamba, Peru.
  • Rode Kwarts: De kwartskristallen hebben hun dieprode tot roodbruine kleur te danken aan insluitsels van hematiet. 
  • Epidoot: Tussen de kwartspunten bevinden zich donkergroene tot bijna zwarte epidootkristallen, vaak in de vorm van waaiers met een glasachtige glans.
  • Esthetiek: De combinatie van de 'stekelige' kwartsformaties en de aardse groene epidoot maakt dit tot een dynamisch stuk dat geliefd is bij verzamelaars van Peruaanse mineralen.
