Wat meteen opvalt aan de McLaren 765LT Spider, is de carrosserie. Deze is gemaakt van koolstofvezels gevormd om de downforce te optimaliseren. De luchtinlaten aan de zijkant kun je herkennen van de 675LT Spider, dit zijn namelijk dezelfde. De McLaren 765LT Spider werd in Maart 2020 geïntroduceerd en is de gelimiteerde opvolger van de McLaren 675LT. Er zijn, ironisch genoeg, maar 765 stuks van de 765LT Spider geproduceerd. De eerste bolides van dit model zijn in Oktober 2020  uitgeleverd aan klanten. Veel van de 765LT Spider komt echter overeen met de 720S. De McLaren 765LT Spider is zo aangepaste ten opzichte van de 720S dat hij beter presteert op een circuit. Zo is hij ongeveer 80 kilo lichter en 5mm verlaagd om de aerodynamica te verbeteren. Wat de 765LT Spider daarnaast onderscheidt van de 720S Spider, is de volledig titanium uitlaat met 4 uitgangen.

Als jij deze supercar graag in je garage wil hebben, dan moet je wel de portemonnee trekken. Hij is verkrijgbaar bij 2 McLaren dealers in Nederland voor een vanafprijs van iets meer dan €410.000 wanneer je de versie met vast dak wil. Toch liever een dak dat elektrisch inklapbaar is? Dan leg je zo’n €30.000 meer neer. Deze prijzen zijn nog zonder accessoires en andere toevoegingen. Voor dat bedrag krijg je wel een geweldige auto die binnen 2,8 seconde op 100km/uur zit. Trap je hem even door, dan zit je na 7,2 seconde al op 200km/uur. De topsnelheid komt uit op 330 km/uur.

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
