De M60 Patton main battle tank was lange tijd de belangrijkste gevechtstank van de Verenigde Staten. Als opvolger van de M48 Patton moest deze tank de Russische T-62 overklassen. De tank, die is vernoemd naar de bekende Amerikaanse generaal George S. Patton, diende in het Amerikaanse leger gedurende 1959-2005.
