Deze prestigieuze rode wijn komt uit de Monvigliero-wijngaard in Verduno, Piemonte in Italië. Deze wijngaard, gelegen op 200 tot 300 meter boven zeeniveau, staat bekend als de 'Grand Cru' van Verduno. De Nebbiolo-druiven worden met de hand geoogst, ontsteeld en zacht geperst. Na een koude schilweking van 15 dagen vindt de fermentatie plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks. Vervolgens rijpt de wijn drie jaar in Franse eikenhouten vaten, wat bijdraagt aan de complexiteit en diepte van de smaak. 

In de geur komen tonen van viooltjes, kruiden, vanille, rood en zwart fruit, eikenhout en tabak naar voren. In de mond is de wijn vol en krachtig, met een goede balans tussen tannines en zuren. Deze Barolo is uitstekend te combineren met rijke gerechten zoals truffelpasta, geroosterd vlees of oude kazen.

I'd give it five stars, but I wish it had a bit more height adjustment. We'll see how it holds up, but so far I'm pretty pleased.
