De dubbel gezette bovenrand (50 × 25 mm) geeft de CARREZ extra stevigheid en een hoogwaardige uitstraling. De plantenbak is voorzien van bodem, voetjes (15 mm) en afwateringsgaten, waardoor water eenvoudig wordt afgevoerd en de bak iets boven de grond zweeft. Dit voorkomt schade en verlengt de levensduur.
Cortenstaal is een bijzonder sterk, slijtvast en onderhoudsarm materiaal. Het wordt ongeroest geleverd en ontwikkelt binnen 4 tot 5 maanden een beschermende roestlaag. Deze natuurlijke laag beschermt de plantenbak tegen verdere corrosie en geeft het product zijn karakteristieke uitstraling.

Materiaal en onderhoud
Cortenstaal is een metaallegering van ijzer met koper, fosfor, silicium, nikkel en chroom. Bij blootstelling aan de buitenlucht ontstaat een dichte roestlaag die bescherming biedt tegen verdere corrosie.
Belangrijk
- Producten na levering direct uitpakken, zodat vocht niet tussen verpakking en product opgesloten blijft. Dit voorkomt onregelmatige roestvlekken.
- Producten worden ongeroest geleverd.
- Producten van cortenstaal worden ongerust geleverd; het roestproces duurt ca. 4–5 maanden, afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden.
- Tijdens het roestproces kan roestwater van het product afkomen.
- Zorg altijd voor een goede afwatering.
- Niet geschikt binnen een straal van 2 km van de kustlijn.
- Garantie vervalt wanneer er wordt geboord of geslepen op een manier die niet is voorgeschreven.
- Roest kan gefixeerd worden met Owatrol, dat tevens beschermt tegen afgeven.
Beplantingsadvies
- Voorzie de bodem van een laag kiezels (Ø 35 mm, ca. 10 cm).
- Gebruik geen hydrokorrels (houden vocht vast).
- Leg hierop een waterdoorlatend anti-worteldoek.
- Bedek het doek met aarde die geschikt is voor de gekozen beplanting.
- Gebruik géén overlooppijpje: er mag geen water in de plantenbak blijven staan.
