Druivensoort(en): 100% Pinot Noir
In de wijngaard: Druiven afkomstig van lieu-dit La Fortune, nabij Digoine. Terroir bestaande uit arme mergel-kalk bodems. 
In de wijnkelder: Druiven gaan door een pneumatische pers. Trage persing, spontane fermentatie op zowel inox als oude eiken tanks. 
Keurmerk: Biologisch

Het prachtige Domaine de Villaine vinden we in Bouzeron, gelegen in de Côte Chalonnaise, ten zuiden van Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay, ten noorden van Rully and Mercurey. Een van de mooiste stukken van de Bourgogne wel te verstaan. Al ver in de vroege middeleeuwen plantte de monniken van Cluny hier stokken aan.

Dankzij de vele zon uren in de vallei en het superieure terroir worden hier karakteristieke wijnen van zeer hoge kwaliteit geproduceerd mét een lange traditie. We zien hier enkel Aligoté voorbij komen, het iets wat (onterecht) ondergeschoven kindje van de Chardonnay druif. Bouzeron is hierin uniek: het is het enige dorp in de Bourgogne waar deze variëteit uitsluitend op de hellingen wordt verbouwd.

Al in 1730 prees de historicus Abbé Courtépée in zijn Description du Duché de Bourgogne het kenmerkende karakter van de Aligoté: droog en toch delicaat, en onderscheidend door rondheid en finesse. 

De wijnstokken worden uitsluitend op hellingen verbouwd, tussen 270 en 350 meter hoogte boven zeeniveau. De arme bodems bestaan uit een hoog gehalte aan kalksteen wat zorgt voor een goede controle van de opbrengst en het warme microklimaat bevordert de rijping van de druiven. De zeer kleine oppervlakte van de appellatie maakt de AOC Bouzeron een van dé ‘geheimen’ van de Bourgogne.

Well I spent about 3 hours reviewing this book last night and I actually think I understood most of it. I still have a long way to go. And I’m not ready to call myself a software engineer any time soon. I think I would need to take about 3 college courses in software engineering and this book would be the first textbook. I would recommend that the index be expanded. I would recommend a book on Python to go with this book.
