De oudste wijngaard van Stellenbosch werd in 1990 aangeplant. De rest van de wijngaarden is aangeplant tussen 2000 en 2006. Alle wijnstokken zijn geteeld op 5-draads heggen. De bodems varieerden van kalksteen en diep ontbonden graniet in Stellenbosch tot leisteenbodems in Elgin en Somerset West. Alleen de allerbeste druiven uit de beste wijngaarden worden gebruikt om deze Chardonnay mee te maken. Essence du Cap staat bekend om zijn uitzonderlijke kwaliteit en wijnen die hun ware variëteitkarakter uitdrukken. En dat komt ook bij deze witte wijn duidelijk naar voren. Het klimaat is mild met hellingen op het zuiden en oosten die natuurlijk bescherming bieden tegen de late middagzon. Een verkoelende bries vanuit de Atlantische Oceaan zorgt voor rijke, langzaam groeiende gewassen. De grond is overwegend middelmatig getextureerd en goed gedraineerd met een goede wateropnamecapaciteit. Na de handmatige oogst wordt het sap geklaard en ingeënt met pure gist. Voor twintig procent van de wijn begon de gisting in de tank en werd voltooid in Franse (90 procent) en Amerikaanse (10 procent) eiken vaten. De resterende tachtig procent vergist in tanks op Franse en Amerikaanse eikenhouten staven. Beide porties worden gedurende vier maanden in contact gehouden met het hout onder regelmatig roeren van de moer om het mondgevoel te versterken en te zorgen voor een rijke, volle, complexe wijn.Geniet van een schitterend glas Fleur du Cap Chardonnay
De Fleur du Cap Chardonnay uit de Essence du Cap-serie heeft een gemiddelde structuur en sterkte. De wijn is schitterend helder en met een licht strogele kleur in het glas. Lichtgroene reflecties onderstrepen de zuiverheid. De wijn ruikt heerlijk naar frisse citrustonen en tropisch fruit, vergezeld van een beetje eikenhout. De vrucht en de zuurgraad zijn goed in balans. Het houtaroma geeft de wijn een zekere volheid zonder te domineren. Met zijn subtiele zoetheid heeft de Essence du Cap Chardonnay een langdurig effect. Obsessed. Soothing, effective, fragrance-free, incredibly healing
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I’ve been loving this so much I bought a second bottle after a few days of using it. It has all the skin soothing benefits of the tolerance lotion cleanser, but it’s also a really great cleanser. It’s almost not noticeable how good it is at cleansing because your skin doesn’t feel stripped after, but it takes things off really quickly. I was worried because it doesn’t foam a lot and it feels so nurturing — much like the tolerance lotion cleanser (which I use as a second cleanse when my skin needs a few days to recover from something like a derm office treatment) — but when I wash again with my favorite HG cleanser nothing extra comes off, and I tested it twice on waterproof eyeliner that I’d swiped on my forearm for an hour or so, the eyeliner dissolved and wiped off with two or three gentle swipes. It has a very emollient texture, so when you rub it against your skin it slips so easily you don’t realize it’s dissolving and taking things away because there is no friction. So it’s great at taking off makeup, it’s AMAZING at cleaning makeup brushes, and IT DOES NOT BURN MY EYES AT ALL. Also, it is FRAGRANCE-FREE… before I bought it I read a review complaining about smelling a citrus fragrance, that person either has some sort of brain tumor or something spilled on their bottle when it was in a warehouse because this is definitely a fragrance-free product.
Prior to trying this, I had tried another cleanser that gave me weird acne hives all over my chest (never happened to me before) and I was struggling to heal the acne and the irritation. I noticed an immediate difference when I started using the tolerance cleanser on it; the fresh redness went away, the acne started healing, and the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation has been healing fast. So I’ve been using this on my body as well and it’s soothing and moisturizing in all the places where other things have been drying. I have mild rosacea and I hadn’t realized how irritated my skin was from the last thing I’d tried until after 5 days or so of using this my skin tone looked much more even and the stubborn PIH I have from a two-zit hormonal breakout a month ago finally looked dramatically lighter (as recently as the week before, I’d needed to cover them with high-coverage concealer).
Because this doesn’t foam much, some people might not realize how well it’s cleaning… I encourage you to judge it based on how your skin looks and feels. Since it is very emollient though, I do think it’s important to use it with a face wash scrubber or washcloth just to ensure you’re getting some mild mechanical exfoliation and clearing away skin cells that could be trapping stuff in your pores. For this reason, I do wash my face with this twice so the first wash can get off makeup/debris/oil and then the second wash can really penetrate and clean my skin.

No Scent and Gentle
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I broke out in a case of Perioral Dermatitis recently and bought this product to help before I could see my doctor. Avene Tolerance facial cleanser has no scent and is very gentle on my skin. It didn’t burn when washing with this product, and even helped to slough off the dead skin around my lips. My face feels clean, not dry. I am still going to see my doc to get an RX for the inflammation, but I do believe this product helped to alleviate the dryness and tightness of my skin and lips. I’ve used other Avene products and I’m very happy with them. Even though these products are more expensive, to me they are well worth the money because they are much more gentle on the skin than any other products I’ve used. I will buy this product again just because of the fact that it’s so gentle. PS: at the time of purchase for this product, I also bought Avene’s Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Cream (you don’t need to use a lot of this one on your entire face), and Avene’s Cicalfate for lips. Between these 3 products, my lips and skin feel a lot better (however, I will still see my doctor because I have Crohn’s Disease and Perioral Dermatitis is considered an extra-intestinal side effect of Crohn’s).

Gentle everyday cleanser!
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
My go to nightly cleanser! Gentle yet effective. Removes makeup without leaving any residue behind. Also does not dry out my skin or cause breakouts! I would say it’s more of a cream cleanser though. It does not really foam up. It’s a decent size bottle for the price. The pump dispenser is an added plus!
