Over de auteurs
Leoniek van der Maarel (1961) studeerde psychologie, orthopedagogiek en volgde een opleiding tot hypnotherapeut. Sinds 1999 heeft ze haar eigen praktijk waar zij kinderen, jongeren en volwassenen begeleidt rondom verlies. Leoniek is met dit werk in aanraking gekomen, omdat ze zelf op 34-jarige leeftijd haar partner verloor en achterbleef met een dochtertje van vijf jaar. In die tijd was er nog niet zo veel voor kinderen. Leoniek besloot zich daarom te specialiseren in rouw. 

Karina Knijnenburg (1987) studeerde orthopedagogiek en is na haar studie in 2010 aan het werk gegaan als gedragskundige bij Ipse de Bruggen, een instelling voor mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. Sinds 2016 werkt ze als GZ-psycholoog bij GGZ Delfland. Het onderwerp rouw is een belangrijk thema in het leven van Karina. Zij verloor haar broer door zelfdoding toen zij 14 jaar oud was. Zij wilde de hulp en steun die ze in de periode daarna heeft ervaren, in de toekomst ook kunnen bieden aan anderen, waardoor haar keuze in opleiding en werkveld snel gemaakt was.

When they said strong...
...they weren't kidding. Our pup would chew through everything she could get her sharks teeth into. Like my arms. Nothing lasted as long as a week or maybe two. But she has had Dino for months now. And I will not wait for this one to rip. I may be waiting a long time. If your pup likes to tear stuff apart, feel safe in buying this toy, UPDATE: 2/9/2023 Dino finally succumbed to the torture. His back ripped open and despite trying to repair him with ordinary thread he couldn't withstand the pressure, His stuffing was removed and spread all over the living room. Completely emptied he is still a good toy. Strong enough to withstand the forceful play of tug-o-war. Only thing I would suggest is to use something stronger when closing his back. The rest of him is great. I will be replacing him soon.

Not so tough

Before Chunk came over for the weekend, my dog Ted played with this. Ted is a larger small dog and chunk is a smaller small dog. And it is still the perfect size for both dogs.

Squeaker inside toy breaks after 2 days
