Domaine de la Janasse is een echt familiebedrijf. Aimé Sabon nam in 1967 de wijngaarden over van zijn vader en is het in een raptempo gaat uitbreiden. Aimé was zich erg bewust van het potentieel van deze prachtige streek en hij twijfelde dan ook niet om het gebied uit te breiden met nieuwe percelen. Waar eerst de wijngaarden bestond uit 15 hectare is het vandaag de dag 90 hectare groot. Zoals bekend streeft dit domein naar perfecte en brengen daarom dan ook hoge kwaliteitswijnen op de markt. De wijnstokken voor deze Côtes-du-Rhône staan in het oosten van de appellatie Châteauneuf-du-Pape, vlakbij de stad Courthézon. De druivensoort Grenache vormt het grootste deel van de cuvée met 40 procent, gevolgd door 20 procent Mourvèdre, 20 procent Carignan (van wijnstokken ouder dan 60 jaar), 15 procent Syrah en 5 procent Cinsault. De wijngaarden voor Domaine de La Janasse Côtes-du-Rhône worden verbouwd zonder het gebruik van pesticiden, herbiciden of insecticiden. De gemiddelde opbrengst is 46 hectoliter per hectare en de oogst wordt handmatig uitgevoerd. Eenmaal in de wijnmakerij wordt tachtig procent van de oogst ontsteeld en geweekt gedurende twaalf tot vijftien dagen. Ten slotte ondergaat de wijn een rijping van zes tot negen maanden in foudres. In de wijn overheerst de Grenache, waarbij de Mourvèdre en de Syrah een ondergeschikte rol spelen en de Cinsault de finishing touch.De aroma’s van Cotes du Rhone
De wijn ontwikkelt geweldige aroma's van vers rood fruit (aardbei, bramen, kersen), gecombineerd met een vleugje zoethout en fijne tannines. In de smaak is deze Domaine de la Janasse breed, rond, weelderig en zacht. Een sublieme wijn, met kop en schouder uitstekend boven vele Chateauneuf-wijnen. Beautiful plump Blueberries that taste great!
At first I wasn't sure, since they cost so much less than at any store, but I decided to try them just in case they turned out to be good, and to leave a review for others.
They came inside a foil-interior brown bag, each with rubber bands to keep them closed (great idea) and with a frozen water bottle to help keep them cool! That was a very nice added bonus.

Healthy and delicious

Let’s compare to Alani! I was a HUGE Alani consumer, wanted something healthier, tried more energy drinks than I can count until I ended up HERE with Bloom! I am very happy about these :)
These have 180mg of green tea caffeine, Alani has 200mg. After switching from Alani to less mg caffeine energy drinks; I cannot handle an Alani anymore! They give me anxiety, and make me feel really bad.
Flavor wise!! Delicious. But let’s compare to an Alani.
Bloom peach mango, in comparison to a juicy peach Alani is a much milder sweetness and doesn’t come across too overwhelming while still being just as delicious, and in my opinion they taste even better!
Bloom cherry lime, in comparison to Alani cherry twist is a HUGE difference. Alani’s leaves a weird chemical after taste that I cannot get past and makes me refuse to drink them. I am a loverrrr of cherry lime drinks, and this one does have a slight medicinal taste, but it’s more like a sweet tart in comparison. It’s still a win to me!
Bloom strawberry watermelon is comparable to Alani watermelon wave!! But not as tart/sour. I am going to be honest in saying this flavor on both brands is probably my favorite! They both remind me of a jolly rancher. Again, I am much happier enjoying the bloom version.
Bloom raspberry lemon is not actually comparable to any Alani in my opinion, I would reach to say Alani pink slush, ONLY because they both have a different sweetness that comes with a “pink” brand drink. I used to love pink slush until the flavor became nothing but carbonation to me.. I can’t be sure but feel the ingredients were changed somewhere along the way, as Alani tends to do. But I really enjoy the flavor of raspberry lemon Bloom, and you can definitely taste BOTH flavors.
Alani is zero sugar, B12, B6 and biotin, 200mg caffeine and artificial sweeteners. After drinking them for maybe three years, I got burnt out.
Bloom has zero sugar, 180mg caffeine, B6, B12, apple cider vinegar, prebiotic fiber, no artificial flavors or color or aspartame.
You can decide for yourself, but this is a side by side comparison:)
