De Rafael Sastre Roble draagt de naam van de oprichter en is de wijn waarmee je het huis het snelst leert kennen: jong, sappig en vol rood fruit. Op magnum rijpt hij trager en harmonieuzer, ideaal voor de tafel met gezelschap.

De Rafael Sastre Roble 2023 is een Ribera del Duero van 100% tinta del país (tempranillo) gemaakt door Viña Sastre in La Horra. Hier gebotteld in een magnum (1,5 L), een formaat dat zorgt voor een langere en harmonieuze ontwikkeling in de kelder. Deze cuvée is een eerbetoon aan oprichter Rafael Sastre en vertegenwoordigt de meest toegankelijke stijl van het huis. De wijn rijpt ongeveer 6 tot 10 maanden op eikenhoutenvaten wat hem een vleugje kruidigheid geeft zonder het fruit te overheersen. Het resultaat is een levendige en soepele wijn met rijpe tonen van rood en zwart fruit, een hint van vanille en een zachte structuur.

Over de wijn

De druiven zijn afkomstig van wijngaarden rondom het dorp La Horra, op circa 800 meter hoogte. Deze ligging is typerend voor Ribera del Duero: overdag warm genoeg om volledige rijpheid te bereiken terwijl de koele nachten de frisheid bewaren. De bodems bestaan uit kalksteen en klei die de wijnen structuur en spanning meegeven.

De wijnstokken zijn gemiddeld enkele decennia oud en geven geconcentreerde druiven. In 2023 werden de druiven uitstekend rijp, wat zorgt voor een soepele textuur en evenwichtige tannines.

Na handmatige oogst en zorgvuldige selectie vindt de gisting plaats met inheemse gisten. Vervolgens rijpt de wijn 6 tot 10 maanden op een combinatie van Franse en Amerikaanse eikenhoutenvaten. Deze opvoeding geeft extra diepte en kruidigheid terwijl het fruit op de voorgrond blijft.

Het smaakprofiel is levendig en fruitig. Kersen, bramen en pruimen worden aangevuld met subtiele tonen van vanille en specerijen. De structuur is soepel en de zuren zijn aangenaam verfrissend wat de wijn energiek en toegankelijk maakt.

Over het wijnhuis

Viña Sastre is een familiebedrijf in La Horra, in het hart van Ribera del Duero. Het werd begin jaren 90 opgericht door Rafael Sastre, die een familietraditie voortzette die teruggaat tot de jaren 50. Vandaag de dag staat Jesús Sastre aan het roer.

Het domein bezit een mozaïek van wijngaarden, veelal met oude stokken Tinta del País waarvan sommige meer dan 80 jaar oud zijn. Viña Sastre werkt zonder kunstmest of chemische bestrijdingsmiddelen met nadruk op biodiversiteit en respect voor de natuurlijke cyclus van de wijngaard.

In de kelder wordt zo weinig mogelijk ingegrepen: fermentatie met wilde gisten, zachte extractie en zorgvuldig houtgebruik. Deze aanpak levert wijnen op die de kracht van Ribera del Duero combineren met elegantie en terroirexpressie. Simple and Straightforward Wrist Rest
Size: 60% Compact
There's not much to write home about here other than it suits the purposes I purchased it for. This accompanies my K629-RGB Redragon keyboard. It lines up pretty well with the keyboard, and the rest itself makes a nice incline between my desk surface and the keyboard. The padding isn't too plush and is pretty good at providing wrist support. It's also been very good at holding its shape despite the pressure that my wrists have put in the same spot over the last few months; the padding is even across the entire wrist rest as a result. I've noticed that my hand doesn't cramp as much when typing for long periods of time with this rest, so it's doing exactly what I would expect for the ergonomics of my keyboard. One downside is that it's prone to develop sweat marks where you rest your palms. It can't really be wiped away, given that it gets absorbed over time. I would say that if you are concerned with the appearance of the product, you may want to look into a plastic rest instead. I personally don't find this to be much of an issue since the pad is black, and you can only see the marks at certain angles, but I can understand if that's a dealbreaker for some. Otherwise, the rest of the pad is easily cleaned. I usually use a handheld vacuum to tackle dust and crumbs that stick onto the sides and bottom of the pad. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who has a compact keyboard without a built-in hand rest. The pad is perfectly sized for my needs and provides the support that I need for my work. If you're hesitant about dealing with a product that may stain, look into plastic wrist rests instead.

comfy, not rigid and would recommend

it has some slip resistance though I see it slightly sliding every so often, it's obviously easy to install just place it there ha-ha, sturdy and comfortable. good support, I settled for this because I got it for 5 bucks not bad at all, it's about a half inch smaller than my keyboard (it says the size, so I knew that prior to purchasing so its sizing is correct as stated, a good thing) I should mention my desk is hard wood with some scratches in it so some of my other things slide too so I can't say its slip resistance is bad even with it slightly shifting every so often I'm sure it will be better for your desks too. here its barley slides so I'm sure it will stick in place like glue on your desks (aka wont slide you can easily move it if you wanted). I looked at the reviews saying this thing was rigid or not enough cushion, I feel like it's not too little not too much, not rigid, don't know what they are talking about, anyways I would definitely recommend.
