Belcanto weerspiegelt ook het adagium van de grote wijncriticus Luigi Veronelli: „Wijn is de hymne van de aarde aan de hemel.” In alle opzichten is Belcanto de passende naam voor Nittardi's jongste compositie. Het label verwijst naar de geschiedenis en het terroir van de wijn: acht kiezelstenen in de kleuren van de grijze galestrobodem en de typisch rode kleurtoon van Chianti Classico - zoals de acht tonen van de toonladder en de acht druivensoorten van Belcanto. En kijkend vanaf dit mozaïek van acht kiezelstenen, het gezicht van de historische eigenaar van Nittardi: de Italiaanse meesterschilder en archetypische "Renaissance-man", Michelangelo Buonarroti.
Alle druiven zijn afkomstig van de wijngaarden van Nittardi in de gemeente Castellina in Chianti. De helft van de druiven voor Belcanto is afkomstig van wijngaarden in Nittardi, gelegen op 450 meter boven zeeniveau, terwijl de andere helft afkomstig is van een wijngaard nabij Villa Rosa, ten zuiden van Castellina op 270 meter. De wijngaard van Villa Rosa, geplant in 1968, heeft Sangiovese en kleine hoeveelheden van zeven andere lokale druivensoorten, waaronder Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Ciliegiolo, Mammolo, Foglia Tonda en Pugnitello. Beide wijngaarden genieten van een bodemmix van kalksteen en klei met een rijk skelet van Galestro, de lokale naam voor leisteen, waardoor de wijn een aangename mineraliteit krijgt.
Rijping: 12 maanden in Franse eiken vaten (500 liter), 4 maanden in betonnen vaten, en een paar maanden in de fles.

Kind of on the smaller side but for the price it’s just fine. Easy to install with just a screw driver if you can miss a stud, else you’ll need a drill. Strong enough to hold what a normal person would put on a shelf that size. No worries and it looks great

Good shelves for the price can be challenging to install correctly

Good quality shelves for the price. Happy with the purchase. They give you assorted hardware to mount each shelf. Wall anchors for masonry or brick and anchors for drywall as well as screws to affix shelf to the wall bracket. The installation was fairly easy but it can be a bit difficult to get the bracket leveled on the wall. The “level” they give you is useless, it is only the tube - not in a housing, so 1 1/2” long. You will need a better level. Basically you place the bracket where you want the shelf to go then make sure it is level and take a pencil to mark the holes. We ended up using a heavier quality wall anchor so only needed 2 anchors instead of the four they send you. Once the bracket is on, slide the shelf onto the bars coming from the bracket and use the 2 set screws to secure it in place. Check for level and if it isn’t you can remove shelf and loosen bracket screws and wiggle the bracket while still attached while retightening screws. We had to re-level one of our shelves this way. Hope this helps and that it makes sense. As for weight capacity I wouldn’t want to put more than a couple of pounds on a shelf. As it is secure, it is hollow inside and too much weight would probably either cause the shelf to sag or damage your wall
