De UISP-Cable-Carrier is een Categorie 5e kabel die meerlaagse elementaire bescherming biedt met een primaire afscherming en een weerbestendige mantel die schade door regen, sneeuw en andere zware klimatologische omstandigheden voorkomt. De kabel is ook uitgerust met een afvoerdraad en interne folie afscherming om hem te beschermen tegen elektrostatische ontlading (ESD), en zijn anti-crosstalk verdeler behoudt signaalintegriteit, waardoor de kabel Gigabit Ethernet verbindingssnelheden kan handhaven, zelfs wanneer elektromagnetische interferentie aanwezig is.
