De ideale standplaats voor de Rhododendron 'Virginia Richards'

Kies een vochthoudende tot vochtige standplaats maar vermijdt langdurige natte voeten in de wintermaanden. Rododendrons zijn zuurminnende tuinplanten, gebruikdaarom de juiste voedingsstoffen wanneer uw tuin niet gelegen is op zure gronden. Kies bijvoorbeeld voor DCM - Aanplantgrond voor zuurminnende tuinplanten bij het aanplanten van deze Rododendron. Gebruik daarnaast jaarlijks tuinturf om de zuurtegraad op peil te houden. Kies een zonnige tot halfzonnige standplaats zodat deze heester mooi en uitbundig kan bloeien.

De beste aanplanting voor de Rhododendron 'Virginia Richards'

Graaf een gat dat twee keer zo groot is als de kluit van de plant. Meng de opgegraven aarde met de DCM - Aanplantgrond voor zure grond tuinplanten. Verwijder de pot van de kluit en plaats deze in het plantengat. Plant de struik net zo diep als de de kluit hoog is. De kluit en grond dienen dus even hoog te zijn. Gebruik de opgegraven aarde + DCM aanplantgrond mengsel om het gat verder te dichten. Stamp het geheel goed aan en geef de aankomende tijd voldoende water.

Bijzonderheden Rhododendron 'Virginia Richards'

Plant de Rododendrons niet te diep in de grond. Gele bladeren op uw Rododendron zijn een symptoom voor een gebrek aan mineralen en voedingstoffen. Dit gebrek ontstaat als de grond niet voldoende zuur of doorlatend is. U kunt de zuurtegraad van de grond (pH waarde) in uw tuin grond omlaag brengen door tuinturf toe te voegen (jaarlijks). De Rhododendron Russatum wordt ook wel de Dwergrhododendron of Azalea genoemd.

Combineren Rododendron struiken met...

Rododendron struiken van Yarinde laten zich goed combineren met een borderpakket Ilse en Tom. Tevens goed te combineren met andere soorten Rododendron struiken, Hortensia 'Hydrangea' (ook pluimhortensia of eikenbladhortensia's), Skimmia's, Rotsheide 'Pieris', Blauw Schapengras 'Festuca', wintergroene Leliegras 'Liriope' of in grote plantvakken met Japanse Esdoorns 'Acer palmatum'.

Deze Rhododendron 'Virginia Richards' combineert goed met wit en roze bloei. Tevens prima match met blauw schapengras 'Festuca' aan de rand of tuingeraniums in roze kleur. Voor elke 10 m2 tuin of tuinborder plant u globaal 2-3 struiken. Zo creëert u meer body in de tuin. Elke heester is goed voor ongeveer 1 m2.

Not the Fetch-Fest I Hoped For

I had high hopes for the PetDroid Interactive Dog Ball, especially with the newly upgraded features and promises of durable, motion-activated fun. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations for my furry friend. Here’s why I’m giving it 2 stars. Promising Features, Lackluster Results The idea behind this toy is fantastic: a durable, motion-activated ball that would entertain my dog without much effort on my part. The ball is supposed to roll around on its own, keeping my dog engaged and active. However, in practice, it just didn’t capture my dog’s interest. Durability I will give credit where it’s due: the ball is well-made and seems durable. It can withstand some rough handling, which is great for more aggressive chewers. Unfortunately, durability doesn’t mean much if your dog won’t play with it in the first place. Motion Activation The motion activation feature is hit or miss. While the ball does move around as advertised, it didn’t seem to move in a way that intrigued my dog. He gave it a sniff, watched it for a minute, and then walked away, unimpressed. I tried multiple times to get him interested, but he simply wasn’t having it. Lack of Engagement The biggest issue is that the ball just didn’t engage my dog at all. It might be more suitable for a different personality type or breed, but for my pooch, it was a total flop. He’s usually quite playful and curious, so I was surprised by his lack of interest. Final Thoughts Overall, the PetDroid Interactive Dog Ball might work for some dogs, but it was a miss for mine. If your dog is easily entertained by automated toys, it might be worth a try. However, based on my experience, I can’t wholeheartedly recommend it. Pros: Durable construction Motion-activated as advertised Cons: Did not engage my dog Motion activation wasn’t intriguing enough Might be more suitable for specific dog types or personalities If you decide to give it a shot, just be prepared for the possibility that your dog might not find it as entertaining as you hope. For us, it’s back to the drawing board for a more engaging toy.

Pup Loves It, Some Other Notes

We've had this for about six months and my 75 lb, 14-month-old German Shepherd pup LOVES IT. Her favorite is "Crazy Bouncing Mode." In fact, she doesn't care much for the normal mode. She chews it a lot - even drops it in her water bowl at times - and it's still going strong. This is a great purchase. It's nice hands-off entertainment. Do know that it is heavy compared to a normal ball - if your pup likes dropping it on the ground like mine does, it will land with a hard "thud," even with the included sleeve. Hopefully you don't have downstairs neighbors. Also know that the cover that goes over the charging port is removable and your dog may choke on it if they chew it in just the right manner. Definitely only let the pup play with it while supervised. All in all, great toy.

Our German Sheppard loves these

These cost a bit more than tennis balls, but they are so much nicer and longer lasting. For starters, they stay cleaner than tennis balls because they’re smooth rubber. Dirt won’t build up on them and if anything does stick, like grass or soil, it falls off once the dog slobber dries. They’re also thick, so they don’t fall apart or blow out like a normal tennis ball does in our dog’s jaws after 30 seconds. Our GS chomps on these like crazy and the only damage they’ve suffered is a crack that developed from the edge of the hole, but the crack is growing very slowly and none of these balls have totally failed yet. The balls do whistle when thrown ant high speed and that may help a dog track and locate it, but I’m not sure. Our neighbors hear the whistling too so it’s far from silent. Lastly the orange ball is easy to locate out in our yard, but the dark blue practically disappears.
