Over de ontwerper:
De italiaan Cesare "Joe" Colombo werd in 1930 geboren en studeerde schilderkunst en architectuur in Milaan. In de jaren '50 maakte hij 4 jaar deel uit van de Movimento Nucleare en nadien vervoegde hun de Art Concret groep. Al snel raakte kunst op het achterplan en koos hij resoluut voor een loopbaan als designer. In 1959 nam hij het electro familiebedrijf over en begon al snel te experimenteren met nieuwe technieken en technologieën. Dit resulteerde vanaf 1962 in eigen interieurprojecten, en in ontwerpen voor grote merken zoals o.a. Kartell (Chair n°4801 en Chair n°4860), Alessi, Comfort (Elda Armchair), Flexform (Tube Chair) en Boffi.

A lot of my books fit on here and there’s still more room left if I wanted to buy more books. It’s a simple looking bookshelf but it’s really pretty. The shelves were wobbly when we installed them using the plastic screw anchors that came with the packaging. My dad set mine up and luckily he had a bunch of his own so he switched them out with better screw anchors. Once we made that switch it was perfect, there was no wobble or shaking at all. So that’s my only piece of advice. Besides for the screw anchors everything else is perfect
