‘Ruby’ is een kerspruim met groot tot zeer groot rood fruit en rood vruchtvlees. De boom groeit kolomvormig en blijft daardoor relatief smal. Deze variëteit is zelfbestuivend en staat bekend om zijn hoge tot zeer hoge opbrengst. De vruchten zijn geschikt om vers te eten of te verwerken en rijpen eind juli tot begin augustus.

Tips en verzorging:

  • Aanplanten: doordat de boompjes geleverd worden in pot kunnen ze het hele jaar door geplant worden. Plant bij voorkeur in het najaar, dan is de bodem nog warm en vochtig waardoor de boompjes goed zullen inwortelen in de bodem. Planten die in het najaar geplant zijn hebben een beter ontwikkeld wortelstelsel dan planten die pas in het voorjaar geplant worden. 
  • Bio/niet bio: dit plantgoed komt van een kleinschalige kweker, zonder officieel bio-certificaat. Maar geen zorgen, wij zijn er zeker van dat het gifvrij is.
