The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace werd in opdracht van de Royal Armouries geschreven om de overgang van het ene millennium naar het andere te markeren. De muziek reflecteert op het verstrijken van ‘de meest door oorlog verscheurde en destructieve eeuw in de menselijke geschiedenis’ en kijkt hoopvol uit naar een vreedzamere toekomst. The Armed Man is opgedragen aan de slachtoffers van het Kosovo-conflict, waarvan de tragedie zich ontvouwde terwijl het stuk werd gecomponeerd. Het werd voor het eerst uitgevoerd in 2000 door het London Philharmonic Orchestra en het National Youth Choir of Great Britain, onder leiding van Jenkins zelf. Een raamwerk voor het werk is de traditionele katholieke mis, maar de teksten zijn afkomstig uit allerlei delen van de wereld en uit verschillende religies en culturen. This kit is great. I bought this because I know that the seller paired the cutting tool to be the perfect size and it was! Not just that, but the hole cutter was well done and cut thru the 3 layers - laminate, plywood and particle board with ease. The only thing that I would do different, is go to 3" next time. 2" was very tight when running the 2 @ 120 volt cord ends through the cap.
