La Rabassière betekent letterlijk truffel. Dit is niet geheel toevallig. De wijn is afkomstig van de wijngaarden rondom Uzes, iets ten noorden van Nîmes. In deze middelgrote gemeente is er een delicatesse, die nog belangrijker is dan wijn: de truffel. De lokale bevolking is zo trots op deze lekkernij, dat de truffel elk jaar in Januari haar eigen festival heeft. Tijdens dit festival lanceert wijnhuis Bourdic haar La Rabassière wijn. De wijn heeft net zoveel delicate smaken en kwaliteit in zich, als de geurige truffel afkomstig uit de regio rondom Uzes.Een rode wijn met houtlagering
De basis voor La Rabassière Rood zijn twee karakteristieke druivenrassen, namelijk de Grenache en de Syrah. Na de oogst en de strenge selectie; alleen de mooiste druiven mogen onderdeel van deze rode wijn worden, worden de trossen naar het wijnhuis gebracht. Een deel van de Syrah druiven krijgt een rijping op eikenhouten vaten. Hierdoor krijgt La Rabassière Rood meer diepgang. Dit is direct te herkennen in de neus, die uitgesproken en kruidig is. De smaak is complex doch ontzettend zacht. Je proeft jam, rode bessen, eikenhout en vanille.
