The Tamiya 1/35 British Archer Anti-Tank Gun (35356) reproduces one of the most unusual tank destroyer designs of the Second World War. Built on a Valentine infantry tank chassis with its 17-pounder gun mounted facing rearward, the Archer was a distinctly British solution to the need for a mobile, hard-hitting anti-tank platform. Despite its unconventional layout, it proved highly effective in service from 1944 onwards.

This 1/35 kit captures the Archer's unique profile with detailed hull, gun assembly, and running gear. The rearward-facing gun and open-topped fighting compartment are faithfully reproduced, making this an eye-catching and conversation-starting addition to any WWII British armour collection.

Kit highlights:

  • Accurate 1/35 reproduction of the unusual rearward-facing 17-pounder Archer
  • Detailed Valentine-based hull and running gear
  • Open fighting compartment with interior detail
  • British Army marking options included
  • Distinctive subject for WWII British armour collectors

Please note: Cement and paints required, sold separately.

Very well built.
Well build. Very solid for the price. I used #1 AWG cable. I don't like the pinch bolt connection. It tries to drill through the cable, and spreads the strands. Only about 2/3rds are pinched under the knurled bolt tip. I'll keep an eye on it, and if the connection heats up, I'll pull apart, straighten the strands, and tin the ends with solder so they don't crush much. See how that works. A concave, half circle piece under the pinch bolt would be better IMO. That would keep strands together as they crushed down.
