On the other hand it refers to the catalyst of these actions – the departure of the Kirk from its moorings in the authority of Scripture by its decisions on ‘the gay question’. A Sad Departure tells a dark story, almost novelesque in character. A church’s Theological Commission reaches a unanimous conclusion on the teaching on marriage given in its ultimate authority, the Bible. But then its General Assembly acts in a way that ignores, demeans, and rejects that teaching. Thus behind these sad departures lies the prior and much sadder departure of the Kirk from its sacred constitution. David J. Randall was born in Edinburgh in 1945 and attended Leith Academy Primary School and George Heriot’s Secondary. He graduated in arts and divinity at Edinburgh University and then studied for a Th.M. at Princeton Theological Seminary. After assistantships in Broomhouse and Carrick Knowe, he served as minister of Macduff Parish Church in Aberdeenshire from 1971 to 2010, where he preached through the whole Bible. He has served the wider church in various capacities, including a term as convener of the Church of Scotland’s Apologetics Committee (now ‘Why Believe?’). He is now retired from full-time pastoral ministry, and serves as chairman of the Solas Centre for Public Christianity based in Dundee.

Make sure you read the terms and conditions and don't let them off the hook
Asurion is counting on the fact that you don't know how to read. They made the claim process aggravating and as difficult as possible. I CAN read and had to review the terms and conditions with them on the phone and threaten to involve an attorney before they would honor the coverage. They tried to say my product was not portable, when the word "portable" is literally in the name of the product. Then they tried to say the the accidental drop was not covered, but it clearly states in the terms and conditions that an accidental drop and a cracked screen is a covered event. I buy the coverage almost every time I am offered it, but I will be rethinking that going forward and Amazon should consider finding a different company to issue the protection plans for their products because I fear this is the beginning of a lot of complaints. I have filed a claim in the past and it was very straightforward and easy, but they must have a new company managing the plans now, because it was anything but easy. If I was an older person who was not tech savy, or who just took someone's word at face value, I would be out the cost of my item and the protection plan. BUYER BEWARE

They honor their product.
I've been dealing with Asurion for over a decade now. They're my first choice when making a purchase that I know I'm going to have around for a while. Asurion backs its product to the hilt. I purchased a mid-range priced printer about 2 1/2 yrs. ago along with a 3yr. warranty from Asurion to cover any unexpected 'surprises' that might happen to pop up. Fast forward to approximately 3 months ago, when my printer decided that it wanted to start acting up. The print quality was taking a nose dive; colors were beginning to drop out, showing streaks and fading. Clarity and sharpness are virtually gone. I contacted Asurion about the problem. I couldn't have found a nicer rep to deal with. She said not to worry and within minutes had the situation under control. She sent me all the information and pre-paid postage on how to pack and have my unit shipped to their repair facilities. In less than a week my unit was repaired and returned to me. However, this is not the end of the story. Within a few days, my unit was acting up again and doing the same thing it went in for. Again, I got hold of Asurion (Same great service, different girl). We repeated the same process as before, but this time the unit was there about a week longer. When I finally received the unit, I immediately hooked it up and put it through the numbers, testing everything. To be blunt, the print quality was worse than the 1st time it went in for service. After voicing my displeasure (basically having a hissy-fit), I regained my composure and contacted Asurion, again! This time they told me that since their techs were unable to resolve the issue and to not have me waiting any longer than I have already, they're going ahead and refunding the total amount I paid for the unit. Even though it was somewhat of a Pain-in-the-ASS to go through, I couldn't be happier. Within 48 hrs. I had my refund in hand and I turned around and purchased a replacement Printer. Moral to the story, have a contingency plan, Just in case. Check out Asurion: Great customer service - Nice people, very competitive pricing for their products and they honor their word by their actions. Highly recommend Asurion to anyone.
