Sowing Season in Pakistan

Hot and Plain Areas

February to June

Suitable for Punjab plains, Sindh, southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other warm regions.

Early sowing from February to April may help plants establish before extreme summer heat. During hotter months, maintain consistent soil moisture and provide young plants with light protection from severe afternoon heat where necessary.

Cold and High-Altitude Areas

April to July

Suitable for Quetta, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and other cooler regions.

Sow after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has become sufficiently warm.

Sowing Instructions

  1. Prepare rich, soft, and well-draining soil.

  2. Sow seeds approximately 1 to 1.5 inches deep.

  3. Place one seed in each sowing spot.

  4. Cover gently with soil and water lightly.

  5. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

  6. Germination time may vary depending on temperature, soil, seed condition, and moisture.

Seeds may be sown directly in their final location. They can also be started in individual nursery pots and transplanted carefully after the seedlings develop 2 to 3 true leaves.

Plant Spacing

Maintain approximately:

  • 2 to 3 feet between plants

  • 3 to 4 feet between rows

Adequate spacing supports airflow, sunlight exposure, and easier plant care.

Soil Requirements

Use fertile, loose, and well-draining soil enriched with well-decomposed organic matter.

A suitable growing mixture may contain:

  • 50% sandy or well-draining garden soil

  • 40% compost or vermicompost

  • 10% cocopeat during hot weather

Avoid compact soil and areas where water remains standing around the roots.

Sunlight

Provide approximately 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily.

In regions with extreme summer temperatures, some protection from the strongest afternoon sunlight may help reduce plant stress.

Watering

Water near the base of the plant whenever the upper layer of soil begins to dry.

Maintain reasonably consistent moisture during flowering and fruit development. Avoid overwatering, waterlogging, and frequent wetting of the leaves, particularly during the evening.

Feeding

Mix compost or vermicompost into the soil before sowing.

After the plant becomes established, a suitable vegetable fertilizer may be applied according to the product label. Avoid excessive use of nitrogen-rich fertilizer, as it may encourage excessive leaf growth.

Pollination

Grey Zucchini plants produce separate male and female flowers. Bees and other pollinating insects normally assist with pollination.

Where natural pollination is limited, hand pollination may be carried out in the morning by gently transferring pollen from a freshly opened male flower to a female flower.

Harvesting

Harvest fruits while they are young and tender, commonly at approximately 6 to 8 inches long, depending on the preferred cooking size.

Use a clean knife or pruning cutter and leave a short portion of the stem attached. Check the plant regularly during warm weather, as the fruits may develop quickly.

Container Growing

Grow one plant in a container or grow bag with approximately:

  • 18 to 24 inches diameter

  • 15 to 18 inches minimum depth

  • Several open drainage holes

Keep the container in a sunny, well-ventilated location.

Important Information

Germination, growth, fruit size, colour, maturity, and production may vary according to temperature, climate, soil, watering, nutrition, pollination, seed handling, and general growing conditions.

Product images are provided for variety identification and presentation. Naturally grown fruits may show differences in colour, shape, size, and surface markings.

Rancid, Nasty, biltong shavings
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1), Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This Ayoba Biltong has an OK flavour, but the black pepper is excessive. About 20% of the shavings are rancid, which means that every 5 shaving pinch you put in your mouth is practically guaranteed to have a rancid flake. The rancid flakes are bitter. acrid and foul, and this nastiness completely overpowers the biltong flavour, even the excess black pepper taste. I believe the rancidness comes from the white bits of fat attached to the meat, but who wants to sort and clean these biltong bits? DO NOT BUY!!!! FYI - I grew up in Swaziland and Botswana, and ate pounds and pounds of biltong. I even made Biltong while deep in the Okavango Delta.

Excellent flavor and texture to this jerky with no sugar makes it my new favorite
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have recently adopted a low carb, high protein diet combined with weight training, so I'm always looking for new sources of protein. I use protein powder as little as possible, and eat more from natural sources. I have a brand of beef jerky I really like, but traditional beef jerkies have a lot of sugar (10g protein to 6g of sugar). Biltong, however, has more protein per oz (16g) and 0g of carbs or sugar. Simple ingredients, and nothing funky. So a big win on the nutrition front. That is great, but what won me over was the flavor. It has a nice hearty flavor, and has a little wetness to it that makes the texture nice to chew. I have tried another brand of biltong, but I found it too dry for my taste (kinda of like chewing on plastic). So another win on flavor and texture. Pricing is okay. Good beef jerky is not cheap, so you get what you pay for. I would like to buy in bulk, so bigger packages with better discounts would be a good offer I would jump on immediately.

Good Product
Size: 3 Panel-102'', Color: Beige
I got these dividers for outdoor use for some privacy from neighbors. They arrived quickly and were easy to set up. They look good, and though the legs don’t offer stability against any amount of wind—which I expected as it wasn’t advertised for outdoor use—all it took was placing a cinder block on the feet to hold it up right. Coverage is good, it’s easy to fold and move as needed, and it’s light weight. All in all a decent product. I will caution the purchase of “used like-new,” as both of the dividers I ordered were previously returned items, and one came missing a cap, instructions were not included, and the poles were all mixed up and not properly labeled. If I had not ordered a second divider (which did include the instructions) I would have had a much harder time figuring out which pieces were which and how to put them together.
