Our 4010 Traditonal Pin Top Stair Wood Newel Post is the basic newel for Over the Post Systems. Has a dowel pin on top to fit into a volute, turn out, tandem cap and other fittings. Pin topped newels are made to use with continuous ‘over the post’ handrail installations
In the Over-the-Post balustrade system the rail runs over the newels with a series of fittings. This installation creates the aesthetic of a continuous section of handrail. The newels are used to support the handrail of the balustrade.

Caution: It is critical that the newel is attached securely in order for the staircase to comply with local building codes.
Our Wood Newel Posts are available in a wide variety of species including: Oak, Poplar, Cherry, Maple, Mahogany, Alder and more.
Pricing on wood species other than Red Oak or White Oak may vary as they are custom made to order. Please call prior to placing an order to verify price.
This post is a SOLID wood core, they are stronger and more secure than engineered filler core products.
