The bit features a bottom-mounted bearing that produces a distinct inset bead at the base of the radius, adding a sophisticated shadow line to your work. With its standard 1/4" shank, this bit offers excellent compatibility with a wide range of hand-held and table-mounted portable routers.
Versatility is a hallmark of Freud engineering. While designed as a beading bit, this tool can also serve as a standard roundover bit for softening square corners by simply swapping the bearing (requires Freud 62-104 bearing and 62-313 step washer, sold separately). The bit is crafted with Freud's industry-leading TiCo™ Hi-Density Carbide for a sharper, longer-lasting edge and finished with the exclusive Red Perma-SHIELD® Coating to resist heat, rust, and pitch buildup. It cuts cleanly through hardwood, softwood, plywood, and composite materials, leaving a smooth, burn-free finish.

Pro-Tip: To double the utility of this bit, you can transform it into a standard Roundover bit (eliminating the bottom "bead" step). Simply replace the standard 3/8" bearing with a 1/2" bearing (Freud 62-104) and a step washer (Freud 62-313). This gives you two distinct profiles from a single high-quality cutter.
