  • Hammered finish tops made with Seaboard® marine-grade poly lumber (MGP)
  • Poly Lumber is dense, durable and virtually maintenance free
  • Built to withstand a range of climates, including hot sun, snowy winters, and strong coastal winds
  • High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lumber manufactured using 95% recycled plastic
  • UV protectant and color infused into the lumber; no painting or waterproofing needed
  • BPA free and Amish made in the USA
  • Center table hole fits umbrellas up to 1.5" diameter; a matching composite cap covers the hole when an umbrella is not used
  • Recommended umbrella size: 8' x 10' or 11' with a 100 lb. umbrella base
  • Chrome-plated stainless steel fasteners and aluminum support pieces are corrosion resistant
  • Frame is easy to clean; simply spray off with a hose

Warranty

The Berlin Gardens warranty covers manufacturing defects; normal wear and tear is not included. With a little bit of care, your furniture will outlive the warranty by many years.

  • Poly Lumber: Berlin Gardens warrants that its outdoor furniture products will be free of original defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 20 years (residential use) / 5 years (commercial use) from the original date of purchase.

Care and Maintenance

Frame: Simply hose off or wipe down your frames to clean them! Avoid using harsh cleaners, brushes or power washers, which could damage the finish. You can use Berlin Gardens Xtreme Clean or any generic composite deck cleaner if needed.

Covers & Storage: To prolong the life of your furniture, we recommend using a protective cover. In areas with harsh winters, store the cushions inside of a garage or shed, and cover the frames to prevent damage.

Simplistic and Inappropriate

I was hoping this book would provide insights into how to present complex information in a more comprehensible, useful format, using PowerPoint as the tool. Instead, the overall gist of this book is that presentations should be "dumbed down" as much as possible. The theme the author presents is that presentations should be story based. This is reasonable. However, the method the author recommends is that essentially *all* meaningful, complex (or, as the author prefers "boring") content be removed from the presentation. Presentations then become nothing more than catchy headlines and colorful graphics. All content should be in the presenter's notes (not typically to be provided). This is juvenile and useless and frankly reflects a complete lack of understanding of how presentations are made in a complex business environment.

This book is a good introduction about how to use story-telling techniques in PowerPoint presentations. There are some good ideas here that you won't find in technical manuals. If you don't know film techniques these will be eye-opening. But the book could have been much stronger if it were to push these concepts to the next level. I saw a PowerPoint presentation with Andy Goodman, who teaches more or less the same thing, and his presentation nailed these concepts more cleanly than this book does. But again, this book is definitely worth checking out if you haven't studied storytelling before.
