In the windswept cliffs of the Mithran Highlands, a young Laconian and his trusty dog attempt to track down a dangerous monster troubling the locals, in the lad's effort to rise among the esteemed heros of his homeland. Yet this aspiring hero-to-be is no ordinary Laconian, as he is driven not by the thrill of the hunt nor the achievement to boast - experiences the Thalassocracy's full citizens want to be remembered by in song and in prose - but by something very mundane: the chance at freedom. This action-packed story is a humble tale of a person whose motivations to become a hero is anchored by familial need, whose desire to prove his worth is not to bring personal glory but to break away from the established social strata strictly enforced by his home nation. Will he be able to transcend his place in society and achieve the impossible, or will he become another failure among the many who gambled - and perished - in undergoing the trial of eleftheria? Will he be able to uphold his granted epithet as Laconia's new Titanos?
