- Country of Origin: Italy
- Zones: 8–9
- Looks: Vigorous tree with an open, semi-pendulous habit. The crown is ample and expansive with many pendulous small branches that curve at the tip.
- Personality: Early and simultaneous ripening. Fruit is purple-black at maturity, though purple-green at ideal harvest. Oil content varies from 16–21%, producing a mild, delicately fruity oil.
- Facts of note: Excellent resistance to wind, fog, olive knot, fungus, and peacock spot. A rustic, quick-to-produce variety that tolerates adverse climate and pests well. Increasingly used for table olive production in semi-ripe or black stages.
- Pollenizer: Self-sterile – requires a pollenizer. Best with Pendolino or Maurino, though Frantoio and Maraiolo are also effective.
- Chill Hours: 300–400
