The OmniSpool Line Care Box is a useful add-on for line maintenance, designed to clip directly onto the OmniSpool SwitchBox. Fly lines get scaly, salty, and sticky over time, and that grime quietly costs you casting and shooting efficiency. The Line Care Box makes looking after your line quick enough that you will actually do it.
It works as a two-stage treatment. As the line passes through the first half of the box, it is scrubbed clean; as it passes through the second half, it is coated with the line treatment fluid of your choice. Because the box clips onto the SwitchBox, the whole job is done as the line winds across, so you do not need the extra hand you do not have.
The box is sturdy and small, lined with a hard but absorbent rotating felt. That felt revolves to eight separate surfaces, so it will be a long time before the lining itself needs a wash. A locking clip keeps the box closed while allowing some play for the different sections of a line's taper, and you can vary manual pressure on the box to make sure the whole line, taper and all, is cleaned and treated evenly.
Whether you are a couple of days into a trip or putting your gear away for the season, the Line Care Box gets line maintenance done in minutes. A freshly cleaned and coated line casts better, and lines cared for this way simply last longer.
