The term Rainwater is an old historic term that comes from a legend that Madeira got left out in the rain and was slightly diluted. The watered down Madeira was more vibrant, drinkable and tasty. Nowadays Rainwater essentially just means "Medium Dry" and is an excellent entry point to trying Madeira.
The wine has a light gold colour and tastes like dried fruits, orange blossoms and preserved fruit. Full-bodied, round and smooth. There is an unexpected and pleasurable refreshing finish here, perfect with some Stilton!
