Porter Press – fine books curated by Amalgam - the full collection >

This book is unique. It is a compendium of wonderful automotive treasure, as discovered. With the passage of time all cars became worthless and unloved, no matter how eminent. Racing cars inevitably became uncompetitive and redundant. Many vehicles passed into scrapyards, the motoring equivalent of a cemetery, or simply rotted away.

Today, of course, we value, covet and preserve the work of great designers, engineers and coachbuilders, and their creations give enormous pleasure to many, whether it be in ownership, driving, competing or simply as historic objects to be admired when on display. All will have a story – sometimes sad, sometimes heroic.

Many of the more esoteric car companies produced machines that were not only engineering masterpieces but also great works of art.

Italian Corrado Cupellini was a pioneer in the developing old car movement in the 1960s and ’70s. He had a mission: to explore, discover and rescue motor cars of merit before it was too late. He roved the world following his passion and this extraordinary book is a photographic record of his astounding journey of discovery.

Limited to just 50 copies signed by author Michael Kliebenstein. As Michael Kliebenstein's amazing SuperFinds book consists of photographs of hundreds of seriously important historic cars as found in scrapyards, sheds, fields and old garages, many of them are damaged, modified or rusty. Picking up the rust theme as being something very different, Porter Press have set out to create, with the help of their specialist bookbinders, an appropriately distressed appearance for the special Collector's Edition. The slipcase is covered in a velvet which, because of the pile (like a carpet), gives a mottled effect. The books are bound in a mixture of heavily-grained blue leather which will age nicely and a material that looks like rusty metal. The metal plate with the book title also appears to be rusty and the four screws that attach it are intentionally rusty. Finally, the end-papers also look rusty. The book’s ethos could be summed up as shabby chic.

    Love it
    Color: Dark Green, Size: Small
I got the dark green. Love the sweater and it's warm. I do layer the sweater as well. It is as pictured. Size is perfect to me. I like sweaters to be longer and a bit wider in case it is freezing and I need to layer it. This sweater is perfect for layering. It comes closer to my backside, it is a little wide and not snug, and I like that the sleeves come over my wrists

Still soft but looks terrible after 1 wash. Save your money
Color: White, Size: Small, Color: White, Size: Small
Update: sweater looked great when I received. After 1 wash it looks terrible. Looks like it’s been washed too many times, material fuzzy and piled. After wearing it once, it snagged and the knit pulled through. I would NOT recommend. I had such high hopes. Save your money. Very nice sweater, especially for the price! I love the details of the buttons on the sleeves. It is SO soft. It’s not super thick as I can see my skin through it when pressing my hand up against fabric. However, it’s not see through when wearing it. It’ll be perfect in cooler weather and perfect in the winter with a coat but won’t cause me to overheat when in a heated environment. I do feel like it runs big. I could have sized down a size. Although I’m not sure if it’ll shrink after a wash or two.

    Disappointed.
Color: Blue, Size: Large, Color: Blue, Size: Large
This sweater is so comfortable and very soft. It fits well in a flattering, oversized way. But after one wash it is pilled everywhere which makes it look old and shabby. It’s at a price point where I feel compelled to return it.

Perfect for casual wear and dressy style
    Color: Dark Green, Size: Small
This sweater is soooo soft and the color is so rich. The fit of it is perfect, not too tight and not too baggy, just right and I used the size guide to pick my size. Just for reference, I am 5'3" and 130lbs, 38C bust. It's well made and washes great. I chose to hang dry mine as I typically don't put any of my sweaters in the dryer to dry, just to fluff them. I have this one in two colors, the green and the tan/beige and I would say they are both a true representative of the color shown.

    Love the long sleeves!!!
    Color: White, Size: Small
Love it! I'm 5' 11" tall and I purchased this according to reviews. Several people commented on the length of the sleeves. I have a hard time finding sleeves long enough if it's not " tall" sized. It was perfect for me. If this washes nice I'm going to consider purchasing more in other colors. I ordered the white and just love the long ribbed cuffs with the line of buttons. Very soft.
