So pleased to bring this one to life! Drawing features a presumed extinct Eskimo Curlew in the Canadian arctic. The design was important for this one. I wanted the bird to be "larger than life" by using a deep wide angle background and careful position of horizon with cloud cover. The title speaks to the lesson to be drawn from the story of this bird species, to be careful with what still remains and do what we can to not repeat the same mistakes. On the bright side, we still have tundra and it's many extraordinary flora and fauna, we should preserve it now!
