The silver frame has that nice dark gray color, that complements the black cross. The pin setup functions as it should. The pin is marked K. A. G. which indicates (we believe) that it was produced by company Franz Khmayer A. G. in Poszony, which is

The pin is marked K.A.G. which indicates (we believe) that it was produced by company Franz Kühmayer A.G. in Poszony, which is now in Slovakia. This is a handsome early badge in very good condition.
History: The German "Iron Cross of 1914" was a military decoration awarded to soldiers during World War I, originally established by King Frederick William III of Prussia in 1813 as a recognition for bravery in battle.
