Crafted by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team in collaboration with the renowned Roca brothers and The Macallan Whisky Maker, Diane Stuart, this limited-edition release captures the essence of the joyful celebration with a blend of creativity, innovation, and artistry.
The whisky itself, bottled at 48%, unveils a sensory journey with notes of sugared pan de muerto bread, creamy vanilla, and chocolatey Mexican mole with charred pineapple.
The intense sweetness on the palate, infused with flavors of orange oil and Mexican mole, leads to a delicate finish with notes of charred coals, creating a whisky that truly embodies the artistic character and unique ingredients of this iconic celebration.
The whisky is presented in a pack adorned with a vibrant marigold color, inspired by the festival's traditions, symbolizing the joy and celebration of life for the departed souls. Upon opening the pack, the artwork by illustrator Alfredo Rios unfolds that depicts key cultural elements central to the Day of the Dead festival. Marigold flowers, representing hope of reunion with loved ones, grace the illustration alongside a Guitar symbolizing the significance of "Mariachis" music in bidding farewell to the departed.
