Korg's new Volca series reminds us of the Roland X0X boxes (TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, TB-303, SH-101, MC-202, etc) that defined the sound of techno, acid and house music in the late 80s and early 90s. These classics are still in huge demand (search our website for fully refurbished examples), as these new Volcas are now and likely will be in another 30 years. Marketed specifically for use in EDM, but useful for most electronic music, the Volcas additional modern day features make them even more useful and fun to play than the machines that inspired them. We bought the whole series so we can revive our old electro jam band. It's only a matter of time before we're headlining that EDM festival near you!
Korg Volca Bass is a fun new analog synthesizer with a built-in speaker and MIDI. Its designer was obviously influenced by the classic Roland TB-303 Computer Controlled Bassline - the machine responsible for acid music, but does a lot more. It's 3 oscillators that can be tuned independently and its active step feature allows the user to remove or add steps to create new basslines. It's small and lightweight and works perfectly together with the rest of the Volca series. Please use the search feature above for other new Korg products, including the other Volcas.
