This turbo, designed to support up to 550 horsepower, is built with durability in mind, featuring a simple fixed-geometry design without turbine vanes, unison rings, or VGT solenoids. The easy integration allows seamless installation with aftermarket components, retaining the OEM pedestal mount and oil drain.
Instead of providing a one-size-fits-all solution, Smeding has developed four distinct versions of this turbo tailored to meet the needs of the majority of 6.0L Powerstroke owners. For trucks with mildly tuned, stock injectors, the standard cast-wheel turbo can support power ranges from 350 to 450 horsepower. Moving on to more aggressively tuned trucks with mild injector upgrades, its billet wheel 63mm unit becomes ideal, supporting power levels from 400 to 500 horsepower. Moving on, stepping further into more aggressive builds, the 64.5 billet wheel version can handle up to 550 horsepower while maintaining excellent drivability and towing capabilities.
For those seeking the pinnacle compressor option, the 63mm billet SXE-R wheel is its top-tier choice. Designed for competition, this lightweight unit boasts quick-spooling characteristics, making it a reliable option for towing, daily driving, or even drag strip enjoyment.
