NOW OFFERING A 2-DAY JOSHUA TREE ANCHORS CLINIC!

Do you want the tools to climb on your own in Joshua Tree? Many routes can be easily accessed from above by scrambling to the top of rock formations, but building anchors can be complex. With a little creativity and advanced anchoring skills, it’s possible to set up hundreds of fun top-ropes of every style.

In this clinic, you’ll learn to build top-rope anchors in Joshua Tree by using a static rope to equalize boulders, bolts, cams, and other natural protection. You’ll learn the basics of placing trad gear to use as components of your anchors. You’ll also learn methods to protect yourself near cliff edges and how to rappel down the top-ropes you build.

What to Expect:

Get ready to make use of anchor boards, which allow us to safely teach you how to build and clean an anchor while on the ground. And, if time permits, you'll also have the opportunity to clean an anchor and rappel under guided supervision.
