 ROMAN EMPIRE

CERTIFIED BY NGC

Claudius II AD 268-270

BI Double-Denarius

Obverse: Bust of Claudius Gothicus, radiate,
cuirassed, right or head of Claudius Gothicus, radiate, right or bust of
Claudius Gothicus, head bare, right.

Reverse: Annona, draped, standing left, foot on prow, holding corn-ears in right
hand and cornucopiae in left hand.

In ancient Roman religion, Annona (Latin "corn, grain;
means of subsistence", from annus "year") is the divine personification of the
grain supply to the city of Rome. She is closely connected to the goddess Ceres,
with whom she is often depicted in art.

Annona, often as Annona Augusti, was a creation of Imperial religious
propaganda, manifested in iconography and cult practice. She is presented as a
theophany of the emperor's power to care for his people through the provision of
grain. Annona thus lacked narrative mythology or a tradition of devotion in the
Roman Republic, but once established as part of Imperial cult, she was the
recipient of dedications and votive offerings from private individuals motivated
by gratitude or the seeking of favor.

Marcus Aurelius Claudius (May 10, 213 - January, 270), often referred to as
Claudius Gothicus or Claudius II, was a Roman Emperor . He ruled the Roman
Empire for less than two years (268 - 270), but during that brief time he
managed to obtain some successes. He was later given divine status.

Classy pair that look great but don’t last

Great shoe. Slip on is easy and the shoes are comfortable and classy. Ten months later and the bottom has holes and didn’t last.

Love it
Size: 11, Color: Black
Almost the perfect travel shoe. Goes well with both casual and formal attire. Walked like a million steps with this in Japan, SEA, etc. only thing it probably can't do is probably hiking. Otherwise the leather feels really high quality, and the shoe slips on without much fuss. I'd describe the style as: a dressed-up Converse

Great shoe, horrible lace design.
Size: 13, Color: White, Size: 13, Color: White
This shoes look great and the materials for the actual shoe feel great. They run a little big that doesn't bother me. Unfortunately, the lace design is horrible. I've now have 2 pairs of these shoes and both times the bottom lace has ripped out of the stitching. The first time was on the 2nd day I wore them, and the replacement pair to those it happened after I walked 20 feet. Both times I've tied a knot in the bottom lace so that I could get through the day. Ideally these laces should be connected together and not attached to the shoe (this is how both of my Skechers Slip-ins are designed). Because I like the rest of the shoe so much I'm buying elastic laces to replace the horrible original laces.
