This piece started back in February 2025 and I'm very pleased to have fully completed it. I loved drawing this species and went with a whimsical treatment with fireweed for the background. Probably the most complex bird I've done thus far as managing the bright whites adjacent to deep darks with subtle midtone gradations was very challenging. Really pleased
