Designed for data centers and enterprise infrastructure, the ASRock Rack 1U12XL-C622 RPSU Barebone System delivers dual-processor capability, expansive storage, and flexible I/O in a compact 1U rack-mountable chassis. Built around the Intel C622 chipset and Socket P LGA-3647, this barebone platform is engineered to support demanding workloads—from virtualization and databases to high-availability file services. With generous storage bays, ample RAM slots, and robust management capabilities, the 1U12XL-C622 is aimed at organizations seeking scalable performance without compromising density. This description blends real-world use cases, key specifications, and practical benefits to help you evaluate how this barebone system fits into your data-center strategy.

  • Dual-processor readiness with Socket P LGA-3647 — The system is designed to accommodate two processors, powered by the Intel C622 chipset, enabling elevated multi-threaded performance for virtualization, databases, and compute-heavy workloads. This dual-CPU architecture helps maximize throughput, support larger VMs, and reduce CPU bottlenecks in dense rack deployments.
  • Extensive storage capacity and flexible I/O — Featuring 12 hot-swappable 3.5" drive bays plus 2 M.2 interfaces, the barebone chassis offers wide storage expansion and fast OS or boot drives. This combination supports high IOPS and large data pipelines, ideal for media streaming servers, backup appliances, and scalable network storage solutions.
  • Memory capacity and expandability — Up to 64 GB of DDR4 SDRAM across 16 memory slots provides ample room for virtualization hosts, in-memory databases, and caching layers. The generous slot count enables memory configurations that optimize performance while maintaining a compact footprint.
  • Management, graphics, and reliability — Integrated ASPEED AST2500 graphics handle remote management tasks, console redirection, and system monitoring, reducing on-site interventions and improving uptime in remote or distributed data centers. This embedded management capability complements traditional network administration for a more resilient server environment.
  • Rack-friendly design and connectivity — A true 1U rack-mountable form factor, engineered for dense data-center deployments. The RJ-45 network interface and versatile chassis layout support streamlined cabling, efficient airflow, and scalable networking to meet growing enterprise workloads.

How to Install ASRock Rack 1U12XL-C622 RPSU Barebone System

Installing this barebone system involves assembling the core components, configuring the platform, and preparing it for an operating system and services. Because this is a barebone chassis, CPUs, memory, drives, and power supply are typically provided by the system integrator or you, depending on the purchase configuration. Follow these generalized steps to bring the server online in a data-center-ready state:

Step 1: Prepare the rack and workstation. Ensure you have proper ESD protection and verify that you have the necessary processors compatible with Socket P LGA-3647 and DDR4 RAM modules that fit the 16 memory slots. Confirm the rack space, power availability, and cooling provisions in your data center to support a dual-processor, high-density 1U system.

Step 2: Install the CPUs. Open the processor sockets, align the CPUs with the socket markers, and securely seat them according to the motherboard or backplane guidance. Apply any required thermal interface material and install the heatsinks per the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure that cooling fans are correctly positioned to maintain airflow through the chassis’s hot aisle/cold aisle configuration.

Step 3: Add memory modules. Insert DDR4 DIMMs into the 16 memory slots in supported configurations. For best performance and stability, populate the memory channels evenly and follow any official guidelines for memory interleaving and ECC if applicable. Recheck seatings to guarantee noDIMMs are loose before powering on.

Step 4: Install storage and M.2 devices. Slide in the 12 3.5" drives into the bays, ensuring secure mounting and proper cable routing to preserve airflow. If using M.2 modules, install them into the designated M.2 slots and route any needed power or data cables. Configure RAID or storage topology in BIOS/UEFI if required by your workload or operating system.

Step 5: Connect power, networking, and peripherals. Attach the appropriate power supply and verify that all power rails are delivering correct voltages. Connect network cables to the RJ-45 ports and route them for redundancy or aggregation as your design requires. Connect a monitor, keyboard, and optional remote-management tools for initial setup if you are configuring the system outside of a headless management context.

Step 6: Configure BIOS/UEFI and install the operating system. Power on and enter BIOS/UEFI to configure CPU modes, memory settings, boot order, and any platform-management features offered by the ASRock Rack firmware. Install your chosen server OS or hypervisor, apply the latest firmware and driver updates, and validate system performance with your standard benchmarks and workloads.

Note: Because the ASRock Rack 1U12XL-C622 is a barebone system, actual implementation details such as the specific CPUs, RAM modules, and drives depend on your procurement package. Consult your purchasing documentation or ASRock Rack’s product resources for exact component compatibility and recommended configurations to achieve the best balance of performance, reliability, and cost in your environment.

Durable, fun, and good for aggressive chewers
Color: grass-green
I have bought this toy for my dog twice now, and the first time I purchased it, it quickly became his favorite. Unfortunately, I lost the first one when some other dogs took it down the street while we were playing outside. It was a bit heartbreaking to lose it, but after about two weeks, we managed to find the old one. However, it was in the middle of the street and had been run over several times, resulting in a broken squeaker. Despite its rough condition, it was clear how much my dog loved that toy. When I bought the new one, I was relieved to see that he doesn’t let it out of his sight at all. We have so much fun together, playing with it by throwing it in lakes, sandy areas, and engaging with other dogs. Even after all this rough play, the new toy is still intact. My dog particularly enjoys the squeaker feature, which adds to his excitement during playtime. He is an aggressive chewer, but this toy has proven to be more durable and has lasted us much longer than most of the other toys we've tried. It has definitely become a staple in our playtime routine!

Nope, not for Murphy the alligator hunter! 🐊🙄
Color: grass-green, Color: grass-green
Murphy, our 75 pound lab, loves to chew. We can’t give him anything soft or even anything remotely made for casual play as he chews them to pieces- literally. So when I saw this cute little alligator, with fairly good reviews, I bought it with high expectations. Nope. It didn’t have a chance- It’s in the garbage. ☹️ First I have to comment on the eyes. I don’t know what they are made of, but the “whites” of the eyes pealed off like paint within the first few minutes Murphy had it. He wasn’t even chewing at the eyes; they just pealed off. I can’t imagine that is good for dogs to ingest, but ok, I threw the white pieces away, and gave it back to him. I do have to say that he loved chewing on it- even without adding any kind of treat to it. So we watched him chew at it for about 30-40 minutes without it being dissected into a million different parts. I was impressed.... Until I took it away from him to be played with later.... during this time he was able to tear parts of the mouth (see pictures), and while all pieces are still in tact, I cannot imagine another 30 minutes of him having this in one piece. So, while I’m very aware that Murphy has limited toys to chew on, I will continue my search for indestructible toys for his chewing pleasure.

Cute toy maybe not for aggressive chewers
Color: grass-green
I bought this because I have an 3 1/2 yr old golden doodle. She tears every toy apart within half hour of having it. The only toys she hasn’t is Kong toys. This is a cute toy. She was shredding pieces off the rubber with half hour of chewing it:( I thought it was very similar to the material of Kong toys? She loves chewing it and playing with it but I probably would not buy it for really aggressive large dogs who tear up toys.
