High-speed AutofocusSony have incorporated XD Linear Motors to drive a high-speed, precise autofocus and tracking operation, whilst also making full use of the AF performance in Sony E-mount bodies to capture the perfect moment. The quiet operation of the AF system is beneficial for capturing stills as well as recording movies with enhanced audio. Switch instantly between auto and manual focus using the focus mode switch, which is an advantage for making fine manual adjustments when necessary. The Linear Response MF ensures that the focus ring is responsive for subtle control when using manual focus. |
Reducing Optical AberrationsThe Sony 35mm lens is constructed of 10 groups and 14 elements, including two XA (eXtreme aspherical) lens elements [1] and a single ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element [2]. The XA elements supress sagittal coma flare and onion ring bokeh to ensure sharpness and clarity is achieved across the frame, and the ED glass element reduces chromatic aberration and purple fringing. The strategic arrangement of the elements ensures optimum use of their technology so the highest quality can be reached in any shooting situation. |
