The Gold Standard in Discus Nutrition

Fuel the majestic beauty and vibrant energy of your discus with Hikari Discus Bio-Gold. Trusted by breeders and hobbyists worldwide, this premium formula is scientifically crafted to meet the unique nutritional demands of discus. Its unique soft, sinking pellet encourages natural feeding behavior and is packed with ingredients to promote stunning coloration, robust immune health, and incredible vitality.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Enhances Vibrant Coloration: Formulated with natural color enhancers like krill, spirulina, and paprika to deepen reds, intensify yellows, and amplify overall brilliance for a show-stopping display.

  • Superior Digestibility: Features a highly digestible formula with wheat germ and fish meal to maximize nutrient absorption, promote healthy growth, and significantly reduce waste for cleaner water.

  • Soft Sinking Pellet: The ideal texture and form for discus. The slow-sinking action mimics natural feeding patterns and is easy for them to consume, reducing stress and competition.

  • Immune System Support: Fortified with Hikari's exclusive Bio-Pure® process and a boost of Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Monophosphate) to support a strong immune system and overall fish health.

  • Appetite Stimulating: A highly palatable recipe ensures even the pickiest discus are tempted to eat, making it perfect for weaning onto prepared foods.

Product Details:

  • Product Name: Hikari Discus Bio-Gold

  • Size: 80 Gram Pot

  • Pellet Type: Soft, slow-sinking granules

  • Life Stage: Suitable for juveniles and adult discus

How To Use:

  • Feeding Guide: Feed 2-3 times daily, only as much as your discus can consume within 2 minutes.

  • Pro Tip: For best results, slightly moisten the pellets with tank water before feeding. This ensures they sink immediately and are even easier to digest.

FAQ Section (Suggested for the product page):

Q: My discus are picky and only eat frozen food. Will they eat this?
A: Yes! Hikari Discus Bio-Gold is renowned for its high palatability and is often successfully used to wean discus off live and frozen foods. Soak a pellet in tank water with a bit of their favorite frozen food to transfer the scent initially.

Q: Why is a soft, sinking pellet better for discus?
A: Discus have a unique downward-slanted mouth designed for picking food off surfaces and mid-water feeding. Hard, floating pellets can be difficult for them to eat and may cause air ingestion. The soft, sinking format is natural and easy for them.

Q: How does this food help with water quality?
A: The highly digestible formula means your discus absorb more of the nutrients and produce less solid waste. Less waste means lower nitrate levels and cleaner water between changes.

Great Accessory for your Petzzz! Also handy for other plush toys.
This set of pretend dog toys is cute! It's a great way to let your (*adult?) children indulge their imagination with their favorite plush toys. They were designed for Perfect Petzzz brand toys, but will "fit" just fine for any plush animal about that size (a foot long or so). > Food Dish A small metal dish filled with plastic kibble pieces that are then hot-glued down. I consider the glue a slight disappointment - it would have been neat to have been able to strew the food pieces around the bowl like a real puppy would! But at the same time I understand wanting to reduce choking hazards for young children, or losing the food pieces during play. > Treats A pair of translucent plastic dog bone 'treats' designed to resemble rawhide. The design of these treats REALLY hit the nail on the head. They're VERY convincing, and I've had to stop myself from experimentally nibbling on them. Make sure that your real dog does not eat these! They do seem a bit ragged though, but that only lends to the realism - real rawhide treats also become ragged as the dog chews on them, right? > Chew Toy Rope A small piece of rope with knots tied on each end. The material appears to be either cotton or soft polyester, making the rope pleasant and soft in the hand. The braiding job on it is good, making it quite tough. Definitely overkill for pretend play, you could play a tiny game of tug-of-war with this. The ends past the knots fray wildly, but if anything this just adds to the effect.

Looks so real!
These are so much fun! I got it for my child to use with her stuffed animals. Out dogs frequently walk up to the bowl thinking it’s food for them. I like that the dog food is all glued together so that it’s not individual pieces since it’s a toddler that plays with it. The bone treats are impressively realistic. I’m very pleased with my purchase. Great product at a great price.
